Jose Mari Chan brings his “Timeless Tales of Love” to LA, Seattle fans

Jose Mari Chan

FOR MORE than 50 years, singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan has been serenading us with beautiful ballads that touched our hearts – songs like “Afterglow,” “Beautiful Girl,” and “Can We Just Stop and Talk Awhile.” In March, Filipinos in Southern California and Seattle will have a chance to be titillated once again by his timeless tales of love when he launches a three-day concert series aptly called “Timeless Tales of Love.”

The concert, his first in many years in the United States, will be held on March 23 at the Arcadia Center for the Performing Arts in the city of Arcadia, on March 24 in a still undisclosed venue in Los Angeles, and on March 25 at the Pantages Theater in Seattle, Washington.

Joining Jose Mari Chan as his special guests are Julia Clarette, actress, singer and former host of the longest running noontime TV show in the Philippines, “Eat Bulaga”, and Jules Aurora, the talented Fil-Am finalist of “X Factor USA: Season 3” competition. The world-class performances of the three artists will showcase the best in Filipino talent and entertainment.

“Timeless Tales of Love,” part of Jose Mari Chan’s celebration of his 50th year as a singer-songwriter, is being produced by Forex Cargo US to commemorate its own 35th anniversary as one of the biggest Filipino cargo forwarders in the US.

What makes this concert series unique is that it is a major fundraiser for three non-profit organizations: ANCOP USA, which addresses issues of poverty, housing, education and livelihood for the poor in the Philippines; GIFT International Foundation, a 10-year organization registered in Washington that provides healthcare services to the elderly, college scholarships to eligible youth, and learning materials to preschool children in the Philippines; and The Forex Foundation, registered in California, which provides humanitarian, social and financial assistance to deserving sectors in the US and the Philippines.

The “Timeless Tales of Love” concert features the immortal music of Jose Mari Chan, who began his career in 1965 when he hosted a daily TV show in the Philippines. After five decades of composing and singing, Jose Mari Chan continues to mesmerize fans with his greatest hits including his first single, “Afterglow”, followed by his debut LP, “Deep In My Heart”, “Beautiful Girl”, “Please Be Careful With My Heart”, and “Can’t We Start Over Again”, from the “Constant Change” album.

The Concert pays tribute to his “gift of music” which the songwriter acknowledges as a constant blessing.

Be serenaded by the foremost singer-songwriter in the Philippines in March. Join Jose Mari Chan as he belts out his timeless tales of love. Tickets will be available starting next week thru Forex offices all over Southern California and in the state of Washington.
